Bell’s palsy (BP) is a condition that causes the facial muscles to weaken or become paralyzed. It’s caused by trauma to the 7th cranial nerve, and is not permanent. I have been noticing that I am experiencing information overload. I read reddit, digg and slashdot plus some normal news sites everyday. I have come to realize that this is not productive. So from this moment on I am killing all my RSS feeds and online news reading. I will do this for 2 weeks. I figure that if anything is important other people will tell me and if I need more info I can then google that topic.
I have just started listening to the Dave Ramsey radio show. At first I thought he was a little kooky, but he has started to grow on me. I have to tell you that most of us are living way beyond our means and we really need to put a stop to the insanity.
We are going to start Dave’s system ASAP and try to become debt free. I am not recommending that you use Dave’s system, but you need to have a plan to remove debt. Do this for your self and your future.
Over the past few weeks I have been thinking about my self and trying to figure out what I did well and what needed to change. I came to realize that I really have two different people inside me. One is Rickey and the other is Ken.
Now, Rickey is my middle name, the name my father goes by and the name I went by most of my life. This is a very important part of my personality and also the most volatile. He gives me my strength, self confidence and will power. These are all qualities that serve me well.
He does have some downsides. He is aggressive, has a bad temper and can easily not easy to rationalize with once he loses his temper. You might ask “How can both be good and bad?” Well that is a question I have not yet answered. I know I have to work hard to keep the bad pieces out and the good parts going.
The other guy that lives in my head is Ken. Ken is an abbreviation of my first name, the name I currently use and what my Mom’s side of the family call me. Ken is laid back, smart, funny, caring, business savvy and always easy to talk to.
Ken does have his down sides as well. Ken is to nice, he is easy to walk over, he is very sensitive and prone to being to complacent. Not all of these are very bad, but can be if not put in check. This is where Rickey comes in.
When I can combine Rickey and Ken I get the best of both worlds. I get someone that is very good in the business world, self confident, does not get run over, is ambitious and still easy to communicate with. So my goals are to get these two guys to work together 100% of the time. Wish me luck.
Wow! The last few days have been tough. I have had two 6 hour meetings. I have had a sick child, project responsibilities, operation responsibilities, PCI audit and personal things going on. My head hurts just thinking about it all. On top of all that my GTD system is falling behind so I need to revamp a piece or two and make sure I stick to it.
Well guys I just marked a major mile stone for myself and family. I went and bought two new cars. I got a Honda Ridgeline and my wife got an accord. I never thought I would like a Honda, but I have to tell you, I love this thing. Well I will quit blabbing on and post some picks.
My buddy Daniel recommended Sabayon Linux. Well I am wanting to try and redo my home desktop and I decided to give it a try. I will be doing some updates to tell you guys how it is going. I know since it is based on Gentoo that it might take some time to install, but I am hoping they minimize this impact.

So far my updates are going pretty smooth. I have got compiz working as well as my basic environment setup. I am about to do an update and then we will see what breaks.

Well I have become disillusioned with this desktop. While I love Gentoo and like some of the features of this distro I feel that Ubuntu is a more complete solution. I am going to give it a little more time before I blow it away, but it is not looking good.

I have always loved editing films. So now it is time for me to start doing more of it. I am going to learn how to use the software that I already have and start uploading it. If you guys know of any place online that gives good tutorials let me know.
