For the last few days I have noticed that the fans on my MacBook Pro have been running really fast most of the time. I have also been having some applications not function properly. This has lead me to start paying attention to what is going on with this system.

What I noticed was that the Quick Look Server process was pegged. When this happened it would cause my laptop to get hot and some apps to stop responding. This mostly happened after the screen saver was on.

Now before you just start bashing because it is a Mac. remember that other new release of operating systems have had more serious issues then this. Nevertheless I hope Apple releases a patch…. and SOON!!!

I have went a little crazy with my site recently. I have have added way to much to the sidebar. This is bothering me. So that being said, I am going to fix it. This is going to take me some time to figure out what I need to keep and what can go. So hang in there.

I am going to try this for a little bit. It might be pretty boring, but then again most life casts are.

Ok so I admit that he did not say Mission Accomplished, but he did say major combat operations had ended. He also said that we had prevailed which to a rational person means that we had won the war. So I help this clears up some of the doubt in his defenders minds that he never said it was over. But this is just my thoughts. Lets hear yours.

For those of you that have not been paying attention. Bill Cosby just went off on his people. I personaly think this is a good thing. He said what really needed to be said and did not pull in punches. It is about time that someone stood up and did not care what people would say bad about him and started caring for the black community.

You might not know this, but Bill was a PhD before he made it big in entertainment. So he really understands the value of an education. He knows that you must present yourself properly or people will not take you seriously.

So what he said to the people came from a good place and if people would listen it would be a net good.  The bad part is that I do not think people will.  He really meant this from a good place and said it with love in his heart. I think they are more likely to call him an “uncle tom” and leave it at that. This will be much to there detriment.

So what are your opinions? Do you think he said it to be a jerk and make the news? Do you think anyone would pay attention?

On Brief #0244 Cali Lewis has a shit on that says “Nashville is the new L.A”. I have to agree with her. I love this town! With more and more artist, models and the like moving here it will not be long before this truly is the new L.A. We even have Griffin technology.

I come from a Linux and Windows background and got used to always being able to lock my desktop when I got up. Well if you use a Mac you know that the operating system does not natively support this. The closest thing you can get to it is when you use a hot corner and then hover over the corner your machine will activate the screen saver and that can be set to require a password to get it to turn off. This is unacceptable in some cases. I found this cool little application that when used with quicksilver can lock your desktop with a hot key. Pretty cool!

Over the past few weeks I have been thinking about my self and trying to figure out what I did well and what needed to change. I came to realize that I really have two different people inside me. One is Rickey and the other is Ken.

Now, Rickey is my middle name, the name my father goes by and the name I went by most of my life. This is a very important part of my personality and also the most volatile. He gives me my strength, self confidence and will power. These are all qualities that serve me well.

He does have some downsides. He is aggressive, has a bad temper and can easily not easy to rationalize with once he loses his temper. You might ask “How can both be good and bad?” Well that is a question I have not yet answered. I know I have to work hard to keep the bad pieces out and the good parts going.

The other guy that lives in my head is Ken. Ken is an abbreviation of my first name, the name I currently use and what my Mom’s side of the family call me. Ken is laid back, smart, funny, caring, business savvy and always easy to talk to.

Ken does have his down sides as well. Ken is to nice, he is easy to walk over, he is very sensitive and prone to being to complacent. Not all of these are very bad, but can be if not put in check. This is where Rickey comes in.

When I can combine Rickey and Ken I get the best of both worlds. I get someone that is very good in the business world, self confident, does not get run over, is ambitious and still easy to communicate with. So my goals are to get these two guys to work together 100% of the time. Wish me luck.

Well I gave it the old collage try. I really did try and stay with Safari, but there where several sites that I tried to use that just would not work correctly. So now I am on a new mission. I am going to try and make firefox work better. This could be a very interesting proposition.
